The Best Use of AI?
Ok, I know this topic of AI is getting beat to death. I've seen a number of posts on Bear expressing frustration with how much it's being discussed. I wanted to share a quick anecdote that hopefully adds a different view of it, though not necessarily deep or well thought out.
Basically, I was trying to change my health insurance plan (USA, y'all) because apparently my premium was at risk of increasing. Anything bureaucratic like this has always broke my brain. Premiums, copays, deductions, etc - it's all gobbledygook to me. Especially when tax season comes around, it feels like I'm trying to read a different language, purposefully opaque and difficult to understand.
This time around, I decided to try using Chatgpt to help me through the process, decode the jargon. I found it actually pretty helpful. I don't know, it seems a little funny to me that this is where the chatbot ends up being most useful. Tackling the mind-numbing tasks that maintain the system that created it in the first place.
