Bear Blog Challenge

Struggling a little bit this morning with what to write about. But I did just recently find Ava's Bearblog challenge, so I figured it might be nice to try.

1. Why did you make the blog in the first place?

I've been thinking about my relationship to the internet more recently and realized that I mostly used it passively. This wasn't always the case. With the blog, I'm attempting to transition to a healthier way of using the internet, away from Reddit/Youtube and participate more creatively.

2. Why did you choose Bearblog?

I liked the simplicity of Bearblog. I also had been looking into micro.blog and write.as, but Bear just seemed like a better fit, maybe a little quirkier.

3. Have you blogged on other platforms before?

Maybe tumblr back in the day, but I wasn't really blogging at that time. I used to do some v-logging on Youtube as well.

4. Do you write your posts directly in the editor or in another software?

At the moment, directly in editor. I recently dug up an old electric typewriter and I've been writing on that some. A few days ago I wrote my post with the typewriter, and then retyped it into the editor.

I really like the feel of writing with a typewriter. Eventually I want to get an old fashioned manual typewriter up and running, then I won't need electricity when the power shortages come.

5. When do you feel most inspired to write?

I'm a morning person, so probably in the morning when I have my coffee. The morning feels like a blank page to me, like it's inviting me to write longform. If I'm writing poetry, more-so at night before going to bed.

6. Do you publish immediately after writing or do you let it simmer a bit as a draft?

Pretty much immediately!

7. Your favorite post on your blog?

So far, none, I just haven't been here long enough.

8. Any future plans for your blog? Maybe a redesign, changing the tag system, etc.?

Well, I'd like to learn more CSS. I've been enjoying playing with the fonts and color palette. As far as structuring the blog itself, that's still a bit beyond me, but I'm learning as I go.
